چکیده

Conclusions Serum concentrations of testosterone and AMH did not differ between lean and overweight dogs. This could be due to a lack of real difference, that the sample population was too small and the power of the study thus limited, or that the BCS was too low in the overweight dogs (only mild overweight). The concentration of testosterone, and potentially also AMH, varies throughout the day, but due to the standardised sampling, this should not affect the results.

Reduced anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) in mares with hemorrhagic anovulatory follicles

Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) has been observed to decrease with the development of hemorrhagic anovulatory follicles (HAFs) in mares. Two studies were conducted to evaluate AMH concentration in mares with HAFs compared to seasonally anoestrous and cyclic mares, and to elucidate changes of AMH with the development of luteinised unruptured follicles (LUFs). In study 1, AMH and progesterone were e...

Anti-müllerian hormone and sertoli cell function in paediatric male hypogonadism.

In the prepubertal male, Sertoli cells are the most active testicular cell population. Without stimulation tests, prepubertal hypogonadism can only be evidenced if Sertoli cell function is assessed. Anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) is a distinctive marker of the prepubertal Sertoli cell. Serum AMH is high from fetal life until puberty. In postnatal life, AMH testicular production is stimulated by F...

Anti-Müllerian hormone in men with normal and reduced sperm concentration and men with maldescended testes.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) in well-characterized men with normal and reduced sperm concentration and in men with a history of or persistent maldescended testes as a possible clinical marker of male factor infertility and/or maldescended testes. DESIGN Retrospective analysis of 199 men selected from our database (Androbase). SETTING The university-based Institut...

Anti-Müllerian Hormone: A Valuable Addition to the Toolbox of the Pediatric Endocrinologist

Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), secreted by immature Sertoli cells, provokes the regression of male fetal Müllerian ducts. FSH stimulates AMH production; during puberty, AMH is downregulated by intratesticular testosterone and meiotic germ cells. In boys, AMH determination is useful in the clinical setting. Serum AMH, which is low in infants with congenital central hypogonadism, increases with FS...

Serum concentrations of C-reactive protein (CRP) in lean and overweight dogs

Methods 28 adult male intact Labrador Retrievers, reported to be healthy by their owners, were included. 12 dogs were categorized as lean (body condition score, BCS, ≤5) and 16 as overweight (BCS ≥6). Physical examination and laboratory testing were performed. Serum CRP concentrations were measured with a canine-specific high-sensitivity CRP assay (Gentian hsCRP). Mann Whitney U test (⍺=0.05) w...
